At invitation of Professor Primorac top American forensic experts, members of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, are to visit Croatia

The American Academy of Forensic Sciences will hold its prestigious scientific meeting, the International Educational Outreach Program (IEOP), for the first time in Croatia. Professor Victor Weeden, the newly appointed president of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the director of the study programme for forensic science with the George Washington University, USA, has accepted the invitation of the academy member Professor Dragan Primorac and confirmed the visit of the American experts to Croatia in June 2015.

The American Academy of Forensic Sciences was founded in 1948 and 6 547 members strong it’s the world’s most influential forensic association. The members come from various professions and positions ranging from the FBI, national security agencies, public prosecution, police forces, judiciary and academic community etc. American academies for forensic sciences use a multidisciplinary approach to ensure strategically lead employ of forensic expertise in the justice system of the USA.

In the course of the IEOP the members of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences will take part in the work of the International Society for Applied Biological Sciences (ISABS 2015) conference, that will take place in Bol on the Croatian island of Brač in June 2015 and bring together world renowned experts in the field, including some Nobel prize laureates. Professor Primorac and the newly elected president of the Academy Professor Weeden, who gained worldwide reputation whilst working on high-profile cases such as the OJ Simpson’s, the identification of Russian Emperor Nicholas II, Sadam Huessin etc., are connected by years of friendship.
